A network of eight renowned European Research Institutes and scientists make up the EuroClot Consortium bringing together expertise in twin and family genetic research on coagulation phenotyping and epidemiological data.

Identification of the genes controlling fibrin formation or activation will enable the development of diagnostic tests that can be used in conjunction with other markers or genes. These diagnostic uses will be evaluated and discussion started with industry toward the end of the project.
